Karan Johar's video of partying with his Bollywood colleagues kicked up quite a storm on Twitter in August. In the video, Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Varun Dhawan and Zoya Akhtar were seen. However, a day later, they were accused of "flaunting" their drugged state at the party, by Shiromani Akali Dal MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
Speaking about this, Vicky Kaushal narrated what actually happened. "So, here's what really happened. Karan calls all of us, we're just chilling at his place. Three days before this, I had just recovered from dengue. So anyway at the party, five minutes before the video was made, Karan's mother was there, and had just put a little gangaajal on us."
He went on to say, "My expression was perfect. That reflection was also caught. The next day I had gone to Arunachal Pradesh, where I spent four days with the military. I had no clue what was going on, I had no internet. I come back, meet my family, and was telling them about my trip. I was happy, as I had spent time with the military. I open Twitter and go "Hain?" I went back to my parents, and asked, "Do you know about this?'"
"They said they didn't want to tell me because I had no net, where I was in a place of no internet.. I was like kya ho raha hai, if anything like that was going on, why would there be a video? Secondly, I thought I'm answerable to the law of the country. On social media trial, it starts off as 'Hahaha they looked drugged, then it comes to they're actors, they do drugs.' When I'm driving my car, if I'm stopped by police for breath analyser, I'm giving that test to the law. If someone just stops me and asks randomly, you're drugged? It's fair for people to assume things, but to make full facts about it, is just unfair," said Vicky.
